Third meeting of the series "Per DIRE di NO": Unsolved cases and femicides in Italy
Third meeting of the series "Per DIRE di NO": Unsolved cases and femicides in Italy
11/27/2024
On 27 November 2024, RacMet ACADEMY hosted the third and final meeting of the series “Per DIRE di NO”, an event series promoted by Raccorderie Metalliche in collaboration with the Municipality of Marcaria and the “Filippo Martani” Municipal Library. The event, entitled "Casi irrisolti e femminicidi italiani - Unsolved Cases and Italian Femicides," featured journalist and writer Giuseppe Rinaldi as the protagonist, PRESENT of the book participated Mostro è libero (se non è morto) - The Monster is Loose (if he's not dead).
The presentation guided the audience through a journey exploring some of the most disturbing cases of crime and femicides in Italy, providing an in-depth look at tragic and often unresolved stories. During the meeting, chaired by the Culture Officer of the Marcaria Municipality, Gloria Castagna, attendees had the opportunity to delve into the dynamics and complexities that define gender-related crimes and the shortcomings of the justice system.
The event marked a significant conclusion to the "Per DIRE di NO" series, which created a space for raising awareness about gender-based violence. This series of meetings has brought the community together on a path of dialogue and reflection, highlighting the need for a cultural shift to prevent and combat all forms of violence.
Thank you to all participants who contributed to the success of the initiative, united in promoting a safer and more respectful future for everyone.

Antonella Ceccardi - Head of International Procurement - Raccorderie Metalliche
The project “Per DIRE di NO” was initiated last year in collaboration with the Marcaria Municipality and the Filippo Martani Library. It was launched to increase awareness about violence, which targets not only women but is broadly directed, as violence can manifest not just physically, but also verbally. During these meetings, an effort is always made to raise awareness about these issues. This is the final event of this year's series of reviews, concluding tonight with journalist and author Giuseppe Rinaldi, who will present their book.
Gloria Castagna - Councillor for Culture - Municipality of Marcaria
The initiative to invite journalist Giuseppe Rinaldi originated from a general interest in crime journalism. His programs are consistently followed due to their high quality and scientifically rigorous presentation. This initiative was launched as the concluding event in the "Per DIRE di NO" series, organised in partnership with the Marcaria library and Raccorderie Metalliche, specifically to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. As a municipality, the company consistently prioritised discussing women's issues and ensuring opportunities for women to share their stories. Raccorderie Metallich believes that fostering a form of inclusion and social engagement explicitly tailored for women can greatly benefit those seeking a supportive group that will listen,
Giuseppe Rinaldi - Journalist and Author
The book is the result of an extensive journey that started many years ago. It was during the production of hundreds of minutes of content for "Chi l'ha visto" that the complexity of the events and crimes was revisited. This revealed that the narrative of the Monster of Florence encompasses not only the crimes themselves but also the story of the investigations. This book tells the investigation and the story of a Carabiniere who arrived in Florence in 1983 and stayed until 1986. The topic of femicide is of huge importance. To tackle and resolve this tragedy effectively, it is crucial to identify what is lacking in our society and culture that influences the psyche of individuals. There is something hindering our species from being individuals of distinction.
