A Matter of (Re)Connections – Building Conscious Parenthood

On 27 March, our RacMet Academy hosted the event "A Matter of (R)Connections – Building Conscious Parenthood."
Organised through a collaboration among the Viadana Territorial Educational Coordination, the Municipality of Marcaria, the "Filippo Martani" Library, and Raccorderie Metalliche, the event transformed the Company's premises into a space for meaningful discussion and shared reflection, bringing together families, educators, and members of the local community.

The keynote speaker was Dr Alberto Pellai—physician, psychotherapist and author of numerous publications on child development and educational relationships—who, with his characteristic clarity and sensitivity, explored one of the key challenges of modern parenting: preparing children to face difficulties and equipping them with the resilience, independence and self-awareness they need to grow.

Dr Pellai encouraged the audience to reflect on the importance of not removing every obstacle from children's path. Instead, he emphasised that the role of parents and educators is to provide young people with the tools to face frustration and challenges, transforming them into valuable opportunities for personal growth, resilience and maturity.

The discussion, moderated by Alessia Zardi (President of the Viadana Territorial Educational Coordination and teacher at the Campitello Nursery School) and introduced by Gloria Castagna, Councillor for Culture, focused on the vision of the kind of children we want to support and guide towards the future.

The event provided an important opportunity to encourage dialogue and raise awareness around mutual respect, personal development and healthy relationships.
